Texture Tuesday :: Just in the "Nick" of Time

Oh, sorry, I couldn't resist...I'm in a silly mood :-)

I've been wracking my brain all week to come up with an image for this week's Texture Tuesday theme over at the Cafe, Let's Celebrate. Christmas always sneaks up on me :-/ I haven't decorated for for years, so my condo is not at all festive.

But a light bulb went off this morning and I remembered that what I am really excited about is that I joined the National Association of Photoshop Professionals last week! So this is what I came up with...my membership card, with Scott Kelby's Photoshop CS4 book in the back ground, LOL!

I hope you will forgive me for no Before and After, or "recipe" today, but I want to get this posted!

I will tell you that I first made some basic edits in Adobe Camera Raw in Bridge, then brought it into Photoshop as a Smart Object. There I clipped a Curves Adjustment layer to the original photo to brighten the whites and added a mask to keep the background less saturated. Then I added two of Kim's fabulous textures, Celebrate (being the literal person that I am) and February Magic Edges.

Don't stress out about your Christmas preparations...you can always use my excuse and celebrate Armenian (Orthodox) Christmas on January 6! I'm only one-quarter Armenian, by the way. My dad's dad was from the "Old Country". I like to say that my taste buds are Armenian because I love spicy food :-)

Very unique... and a great holiday gift to yourself. I'm sure we'll see your skills jump through the roof.

Now, get out there and decorate (you can use them in your posts) ;~)

Your are a hoot. Im part Orthodox and some of us celebrate twice. Its twice the fun of it all or some of us dont and it depends on the year. This year I would like to escape it all. Aspen and ski anything. :)

Thanks for your visit to French at Heart! I think it's marvelous that you joined NAPP. My daughter is all about those pro groups and learns so much from them. I, on the other hand, am all about Christmas decorating!! haha! I will post some pix on Quiddity 2 soon of my obsession with twinkle lights and candles. I'm sure planes flying over our farm think it's a landing strip!!
Merry Christmas, Elaine!

Well you are sure to be an expert now if you weren't already. I just love photoshop and have never heard of the membership, guess I will have to check it out!! I will have to keep coming over to see what all you post! Maybe I can learn something from you. I loved your post on the sweet kitty down below and the liquify (sp?) effect!

Happy Holidays to you!!!

My maternal grandfather was Armenian and whenever I'm late with mailing Christmas cards, I use the Jan. 6 excuse!

Lovely blog. Wishing you lots of pink in 2012.
